Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Goats On A Hillside With Herders Beyond by Jacob Sibrandi Mancadan was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2011, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 50,000.00 – 70,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 43,250.00 (€ 49,635.85). Other works by Jacob Sibrandi Mancadan have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in April 2007 by the work Peasants with livestock by classical ruins in an extensive landscape, with a youth playing a pipe in the foreground at USD 96,000.00 (€ 70,278.18).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Goats On A Hillside With Herders Beyond von Jacob Sibrandi Mancadan im Juli 2011 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 43.250,00 (€ 49.635,85) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Jacob Sibrandi Mancadan wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im April 2007 die Arbeit Peasants with livestock by classical ruins in an extensive landscape, with a youth playing a pipe in the foreground mit USD 96.000,00 (€ 70.278,18).
