Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Jacob Sibrandi Mancadan could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in June 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master & 19th Century European Art auction, the work A Landscape With Ruins And Figures Driving A Donkey changed hands for USD 5,000.00 (€ 3,175.01) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacob Sibrandi Mancadan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Peasants with livestock by classical ruins in an extensive landscape, with a youth playing a pipe in the foreground in April 2007 with an auction result of USD 96,000.00 (€ 70,278.18).
