In October 2014 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction The Hofland Collection, which included the work Daydreaming in the dunes by Jacob Maris. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 30,000.00 67% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Jacob Maris have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work De Brug (bij Rijswijk): the bridge in October 2007 with an auction result of EUR 120,250.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 67 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2014 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion The Hofland Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Daydreaming in the dunes von Jacob Maris zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 30.000,00 und damit 67% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jacob Maris auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit De Brug (bij Rijswijk): the bridge im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 120.250,00.
