Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2017 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction 19th Century & Modern Art, which included the work Gathering fruits by Jacob Maris. The price achieved of EUR 50,000.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jacob Maris - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work De Brug (bij Rijswijk): the bridge, which sold at auction in October 2007 for EUR 120,250.00.
