It achieved a price of USD 8,820.00 (€ 7,268.23), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 47%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacob Jordaens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Saint Martin Healing The Possessed Man in January 2016 with an auction result of USD 4,730,000.00 (€ 4,366,691.29).

Die Arbeit Study of a man holding a bell rope von Jacob Jordaens wurde im Januar 2021 in der Auktion Old Master Drawings bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 8.820,00 (€ 7.268,23) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 47%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jacob Jordaens erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Saint Martin Healing The Possessed Man im Januar 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.730.000,00 (€ 4.366.691,29).
