This price was achieved in the auction Old Master and British Works on Paper at Sothebys in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 8,000.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacob Jordaens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Saint Martin Healing The Possessed Man in January 2016 with an auction result of USD 4,730,000.00 (€ 4,366,691.29).

Die Arbeit Banquet of Cleopatra and Marc Anthony (?) von Jacob Jordaens war einem Käufer im Januar letzten Jahres USD 27.720,00 (€ 24.723,51) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Old Master and British Works on Paper bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von USD 8.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jacob Jordaens erzielen.
