The work Head of a bearded man, possibly an apostle by Jacob Jordaens was sold in the Old Master Paintings and Sculpture auction at Christies in October 2021. The auction ended at the price of USD 100,000.00 (€ 86,565.10), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 60,000.00 – 100,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacob Jordaens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Saint Martin Healing The Possessed Man in January 2016 with an auction result of USD 4,730,000.00 (€ 4,366,691.29).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Head of a bearded man, possibly an apostle von Jacob Jordaens wurde im Oktober 2021 in der Auktion Old Master Paintings and Sculpture bei Christies versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 100.000,00 (€ 86.565,10) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 60.000,00 – 100.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jacob Jordaens erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Saint Martin Healing The Possessed Man im Januar 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.730.000,00 (€ 4.366.691,29).
