Auction result well in line with expectations
The work An academy of a male nude seated (recto); A goat and a head of goat (verso) by Jacob Jordaens was sold in the Old Master and British Works on Paper: Drawings, Watercolours and Prints 1500-1900 auction at Christies in London in July last year. The price achieved of GBP 11,340.00 (€ 13,541.97) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacob Jordaens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Saint Martin Healing The Possessed Man in January 2016 with an auction result of USD 4,730,000.00 (€ 4,366,691.29).
