Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Head study of a crying girl, with a separate study of her mouth by Jacob Jordaens was auctioned at Christies in London in July this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 7,560.00 (€ 8,820.23). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacob Jordaens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Saint Martin Healing The Possessed Man in January 2016 with an auction result of USD 4,730,000.00 (€ 4,366,691.29).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Head study of a crying girl, with a separate study of her mouth von Jacob Jordaens im Juli diesen Jahres bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 7.560,00 (€ 8.820,23) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jacob Jordaens erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Saint Martin Healing The Possessed Man im Januar 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.730.000,00 (€ 4.366.691,29).
