This artwork by Jacob Jordaens achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in October 2021. In the Old Master Paintings and Sculpture auction, the work Head of a bearded man, possibly an apostle sold for USD 237,500.00 (€ 205,592.11) - well above the upper estimate of USD 100,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacob Jordaens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Saint Martin Healing The Possessed Man in January 2016 with an auction result of USD 4,730,000.00 (€ 4,366,691.29).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jacob Jordaens erzielte im Oktober 2021 bei Christies einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Paintings and Sculpture wurde die Arbeit Head of a bearded man, possibly an apostle für USD 237.500,00 (€ 205.592,11) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 100.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jacob Jordaens erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Saint Martin Healing The Possessed Man im Januar 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.730.000,00 (€ 4.366.691,29).
