Auction result misses estimated price range
In June 2005 a collector was able to acquire the work Still Life Light And Shadow by Jack Smith for GBP 5,400.00 (€ 8,003.14). This price was achieved in the auction 20th Century British Art at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Jack Smith have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Interior With Figures in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 51,650.00 (€ 65,621.91).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juni 2005 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Still Life Light And Shadow von Jack Smith für GBP 5.400,00 (€ 8.003,14) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion 20th Century British Art bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jack Smith auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Interior With Figures im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 51.650,00 (€ 65.621,91).
