Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December 2008 Christies in London held the auction 20th Century British Art including Works from the Collection of Bannon & Barnabas McHenry, which included the work 25 Pins, White above Blue by Jack Smith. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 3,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 4,000.00 (€ 4,201.16). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jack Smith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Interior With Figures in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 51,650.00 (€ 65,621.91).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art including Works from the Collection of Bannon & Barnabas McHenry durch, in der auch die Arbeit 25 Pins, White above Blue von Jack Smith zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 3.500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 4.000,00 (€ 4.201,16) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jack Smith erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Interior With Figures im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 51.650,00 (€ 65.621,91).
