This artwork by Ivan Aivazovsky achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in June 2021. In the Russian Pictures auction, the work The Bay of Naples with Capri sold for GBP 201,600.00 (€ 234,916.41) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 70,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ivan Aivazovsky achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work American Shipping Off The Rock of Gibraltar in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 2,708,000.00 (€ 4,018,535.80).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ivan Aivazovsky erzielte im Juni 2021 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Russian Pictures wurde die Arbeit The Bay of Naples with Capri für GBP 201.600,00 (€ 234.916,41) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 70.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ivan Aivazovsky erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit American Shipping Off The Rock of Gibraltar im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.708.000,00 (€ 4.018.535,80).
