Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Shepherds' Camp by Ivan Aivazovsky was auctioned at Sothebys in London in June 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 250,000.00 – 350,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 252,000.00 (€ 293,645.51) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ivan Aivazovsky achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work American Shipping Off The Rock of Gibraltar in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 2,708,000.00 (€ 4,018,535.80).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Shepherds' Camp von Ivan Aivazovsky kam im Juni 2021 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 250.000,00 – 350.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 252.000,00 (€ 293.645,51) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ivan Aivazovsky erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit American Shipping Off The Rock of Gibraltar im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.708.000,00 (€ 4.018.535,80).
