This artwork by Ivan Aivazovsky achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in June 2021. In the Russian Art auction, the work Shipwreck sold for GBP 100,000.00 (€ 116,526.00) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ivan Aivazovsky achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work American Shipping Off The Rock of Gibraltar in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 2,708,000.00 (€ 4,018,535.80).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Ivan Aivazovsky erzielte im Juni 2021 bei Christies einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Russian Art wurde die Arbeit Shipwreck für GBP 100.000,00 (€ 116.526,00) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 50.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ivan Aivazovsky erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit American Shipping Off The Rock of Gibraltar im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.708.000,00 (€ 4.018.535,80).
