This artwork by Ivan Aivazovsky achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in June 2020. In the Russian Pictures auction, the work Passing Ship On A Moonlit Night sold for GBP 435,000.00 (€ 479,077.11) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 200,000.00. Admittedly, works by Ivan Aivazovsky have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work American Shipping Off The Rock of Gibraltar in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 2,708,000.00 (€ 4,018,535.80).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Ivan Aivazovsky erzielte im Juni 2020 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Russian Pictures wurde die Arbeit Passing Ship On A Moonlit Night für GBP 435.000,00 (€ 479.077,11) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 200.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ivan Aivazovsky auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit American Shipping Off The Rock of Gibraltar im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.708.000,00 (€ 4.018.535,80).
