This artwork by Ismail Gulgee achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March 2014. In the South Asian Modern + Contemporary auction, the work without title sold for USD 81,250.00 (€ 58,975.10) - well above the upper estimate of USD 35,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Ismail Gulgee; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Pakistani untitled (Dancing Woman) sold at auction in November 2017 with the realized price of USD 77,500.00 (€ 65,137.00).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ismail Gulgee erzielte im März 2014 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 81.250,00 (€ 58.975,10) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 35.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Ismail Gulgee; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Pakistani untitled (Dancing Woman) im November 2017 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 77.500,00 (€ 65.137,00).
