In June 2014 Christies in London held the auction South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art, which included the work Dunya Gali by Ismail Gulgee. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 12,500.00 (€ 15,618.15), 56% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Ismail Gulgee have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Pakistani untitled (Dancing Woman) in November 2017 with an auction result of USD 77,500.00 (€ 65,137.00).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 56 % übertroffen
Im Juni 2014 führte Christies in London die Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Dunya Gali von Ismail Gulgee zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 12.500,00 (€ 15.618,15) und damit 56% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ismail Gulgee auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Pakistani untitled (Dancing Woman) im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 77.500,00 (€ 65.137,00).
