Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Peasants Playing Cards In A Barn by Isaac van Ostade was sold in the Master Drawings auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 6,250.00 (€ 5,769.94) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Isaac van Ostade achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Frozen River Landscape With A Waggoner Halted At An Inn And A Horse Pulling A Laden Sleigh Off The Ice In The Foreground in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 1,833,250.00 (€ 2,204,276.57).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Peasants Playing Cards In A Barn von Isaac van Ostade wurde im Januar 2016 in der Auktion Master Drawings bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 6.250,00 (€ 5.769,94) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Isaac van Ostade erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Frozen River Landscape With A Waggoner Halted At An Inn And A Horse Pulling A Laden Sleigh Off The Ice In The Foreground im Juli 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.833.250,00 (€ 2.204.276,57).
