Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A View Of A Southern Harbour With Figures Near A Classical Building And Mountains In The Background by Isaac de Moucheron was sold in the Old Master Drawings auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2019. The price achieved of USD 8,125.00 (€ 7,093.59) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Isaac de Moucheron achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A view of the Vatican, Rome, with the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica, from the Janiculum in July 2012 with an auction result of GBP 169,250.00 (€ 215,579.01).
