Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A classical landscape with ruins and an offering scene by Isaac de Moucheron was auctioned at Christies in London in July this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 4,032.00 (€ 4,704.12). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Isaac de Moucheron achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A view of the Vatican, Rome, with the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica, from the Janiculum in July 2012 with an auction result of GBP 169,250.00 (€ 215,579.01).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A classical landscape with ruins and an offering scene von Isaac de Moucheron im Juli diesen Jahres bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 4.032,00 (€ 4.704,12) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Isaac de Moucheron erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A view of the Vatican, Rome, with the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica, from the Janiculum im Juli 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 169.250,00 (€ 215.579,01).
