Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2020 Phillips in London held the auction New Now, which included the work Basic Research by Isa Genzken. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 30,240.00 (€ 33,780.78) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Isa Genzken achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fenster in October 2015 with an auction result of GBP 677,000.00 (€ 946,953.90).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2020 führte Phillips in London die Auktion New Now durch, in der auch die Arbeit Basic Research von Isa Genzken zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 30.240,00 (€ 33.780,78) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Isa Genzken erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Fenster im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 677.000,00 (€ 946.953,90).
