Minamoto no Yorimitsu yakakata tsuchigumo yokai o nasu no zu [The Earth-Spider Conjures up Monsters at the Mansion of Lord Minamoto Yorimitsu], signed Ichiyusai Kuniyoshi; approximately one hundred and twenty other designs, some forming triptychs, depicting legendary tales and landscapes, including some facsimiles; an album containing twenty-two chuban designs of various series; a group of drawings, varying impressions, colours and condition; an album containing sixty designs from the series Genji kumo ukiyo-e awase [Ukiyo-e Comparisons of the Cloudy Genji Chapters], and one hundred designs from the series Ogura nazorae hyakunin isshu [The Ogura Imitation of the Hundred Poets]

This artwork by Ichiyusai Kuniyoshi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in November 2007. In the The Bob Moore Collection of Japanese Art and Design auction, the work Unknown sold for GBP 12,500.00 (€ 17,503.23) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Ichiyusai Kuniyoshi; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Unknown sold at auction in November 2007 with the realized price of GBP 14,900.00 (€ 20,863.85).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ichiyusai Kuniyoshi erzielte im November 2007 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Bob Moore Collection of Japanese Art and Design wurde die Arbeit Unknown für GBP 12.500,00 (€ 17.503,23) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 5.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Ichiyusai Kuniyoshi; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Unknown im November 2007 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 14.900,00 (€ 20.863,85).
