Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Diamond-Studded Fish-Net. Parheliacal Marble. Blue Water's Bark. Poverty pitted with larks by Ian Hamilton Finlay was sold in the lempertz:projects auction at Lempertz in Brussels in December 2019. The price achieved of EUR 260.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 200.00 – 300.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ian Hamilton Finlay achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in October 2012 with an auction result of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 9,324.93).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 260,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 200,00 – 300,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ian Hamilton Finlay erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Oktober 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 9.324,93).
