In April 2011 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings, which included the work Dewa Perang (War God) by Nyoman Masriadi. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 2,300,000.00 (€ 199,878.55), 28% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Nyoman Masriadi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Man From Bantul (The Final Round), which sold at auction in October 2008 for HKD 7,820,000.00 (€ 795,442.36).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 28 % übertroffen
Im April 2011 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Dewa Perang (War God) von Nyoman Masriadi zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 2.300.000,00 (€ 199.878,55) und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Nyoman Masriadi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Man From Bantul (The Final Round) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2008 für HKD 7.820.000,00 (€ 795.442,36) versteigert wurde.
