Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Berdiri (Standing) by Nyoman Masriadi was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 250,000.00 – 350,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 237,500.00 (€ 27,746.33). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nyoman Masriadi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Man From Bantul (The Final Round) in October 2008 with an auction result of HKD 7,820,000.00 (€ 795,442.36).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Berdiri (Standing) von Nyoman Masriadi im Oktober 2015 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 250.000,00 – 350.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 237.500,00 (€ 27.746,33) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nyoman Masriadi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Man From Bantul (The Final Round) im Oktober 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 7.820.000,00 (€ 795.442,36).
