Sold at the lower estimate price
In May 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction 19th Century European Art, which included the work Pensez À Dieu by Hugues Merle. The result of USD 20,000.00 (€ 17,938.83) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hugues Merle achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work French Hamlet And Ophelia in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 312,500.00 (€ 267,780.63).
