Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Hugues Merle could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in May last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the 19th Century European Art auction, the work A Spanish Beauty changed hands for USD 9,450.00 (€ 8,806.26) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hugues Merle achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work French Hamlet And Ophelia in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 312,500.00 (€ 267,780.63).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Hugues Merle konnte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion 19th Century European Art wechselte die Arbeit A Spanish Beauty für USD 9.450,00 (€ 8.806,26) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hugues Merle erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit French Hamlet And Ophelia im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 312.500,00 (€ 267.780,63).
