This artwork by Hugo Robus achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in December 2010. In the Important American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction, the work 'Paean' sold for USD 68,500.00 (€ 51,624.09) - well above the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00. This high result makes 'Paean' the most expensive artwork by Hugo Robus that we have observed at auctions so far.
