Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Hugh Ramsay could be acquired at Christies in Melbourne in May 2001 for an unexpectedly low price. In the AUSTRALIAN AND INTERNATIONAL PAINTINGS auction, the work Self Portrait changed hands for AUD 5,875.00 (€ 3,521.53) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of AUD 6,000.00 – 10,000.00. Admittedly, works by Hugh Ramsay have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Young Girl in Hat with Fan in August 2002 with an auction result of AUD 35,250.00 (€ 19,753.08).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Hugh Ramsay konnte im Mai 2001 bei Christies in Melbourne für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion AUSTRALIAN AND INTERNATIONAL PAINTINGS wechselte die Arbeit Self Portrait für AUD 5.875,00 (€ 3.521,53) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 6.000,00 – 10.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Hugh Ramsay auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Young Girl in Hat with Fan im August 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 35.250,00 (€ 19.753,08).
