In November 2007 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture, which included the work On The Housatonic by Hugh Bolton Jones. The »bidding war« ended at USD 61,000.00 (€ 41,530.50), 74% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Hugh Bolton Jones; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Brook in Autumn sold at auction in May 2007 with the realized price of USD 90,000.00 (€ 66,899.58).

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 61.000,00 (€ 41.530,50) und damit 74% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Hugh Bolton Jones; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Brook in Autumn im Mai 2007 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 90.000,00 (€ 66.899,58).
