Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Hugh Bolton Jones could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in October 2015 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction, the work November, Old Lyme changed hands for USD 6,250.00 (€ 5,660.21) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hugh Bolton Jones achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Brook in Autumn in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 90,000.00 (€ 66,899.58).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Hugh Bolton Jones konnte im Oktober 2015 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture wechselte die Arbeit November, Old Lyme für USD 6.250,00 (€ 5.660,21) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hugh Bolton Jones erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Brook in Autumn im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 90.000,00 (€ 66.899,58).
