This artwork by Huang Qiuyuan achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2021. In the Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings auction, the work Contemplating in the Ancient Forest sold for HKD 237,500.00 (€ 26,407.59) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 80,000.00. Admittedly, works by Huang Qiuyuan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Landscape in October 2017 with an auction result of HKD 1,888,000.00 (€ 207,796.70).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Huang Qiuyuan erzielte im November 2021 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings wurde die Arbeit Contemplating in the Ancient Forest für HKD 237.500,00 (€ 26.407,59) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 80.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Huang Qiuyuan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Landscape im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.888.000,00 (€ 207.796,70).
