Artwork auctioned at eight times the upper estimate price
When the work Sutras by Huang Ding was auctioned at Christies in New York in September 2016, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 12,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than eight times as high at USD 100,000.00 (€ 88,983.80). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Huang Ding - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Landscape, which sold at auction in October 2013 for HKD 3,335,000.00 (€ 316,474.18).
Kunstwerk zum Achtfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Sutras von Huang Ding im September 2016 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – USD 12.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit USD 100.000,00 (€ 88.983,80) mehr als achtmal so hoch. Für andere Arbeiten von Huang Ding mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Landscape beobachtet, die im Oktober 2013 für HKD 3.335.000,00 (€ 316.474,18) versteigert wurde.
