Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work Pavillion On Pine Cliff by Huang Ding was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2015, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 250,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at HKD 750,000.00 (€ 87,620.00). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Huang Ding - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Landscape, which sold at auction in October 2013 for HKD 3,335,000.00 (€ 316,474.18).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Pavillion On Pine Cliff von Huang Ding im Oktober 2015 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 250.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 750.000,00 (€ 87.620,00) mehr als dreimal so hoch. Für andere Arbeiten von Huang Ding mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Landscape beobachtet, die im Oktober 2013 für HKD 3.335.000,00 (€ 316.474,18) versteigert wurde.
