Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Huang Ding could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in September 2014 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy auction, the work Lofty Mount Lu After Shen Zhou changed hands for USD 161,000.00 (€ 127,494.46) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 200,000.00 – 250,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Huang Ding - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Landscape, which sold at auction in October 2013 for HKD 3,335,000.00 (€ 316,474.18).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Huang Ding konnte im September 2014 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy wechselte die Arbeit Lofty Mount Lu After Shen Zhou für USD 161.000,00 (€ 127.494,46) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 200.000,00 – 250.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Huang Ding mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Landscape beobachtet, die im Oktober 2013 für HKD 3.335.000,00 (€ 316.474,18) versteigert wurde.
