This artwork by Hua Shikui achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2018. In the Fine Chinese Modern Paintings auction, the work Seven-character Calligraphic Couplet in Running Script sold for HKD 37,500.00 (€ 4,232.54) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Hua Shikui have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphy Couplet In Regular Script in March 2015 with an auction result of USD 32,500.00 (€ 30,257.89).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 88 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Hua Shikui erzielte im November 2018 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern Paintings wurde die Arbeit Seven-character Calligraphic Couplet in Running Script für HKD 37.500,00 (€ 4.232,54) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 20.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Hua Shikui auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Regular Script im März 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 32.500,00 (€ 30.257,89).
