In March 2014 Sothebys in New York held the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy, which included the work Couplet In Regular Script by Hua Shikui. The »bidding war« ended at USD 11,875.00 (€ 8,619.44), 70% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hua Shikui - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Calligraphy Couplet In Regular Script, which sold at auction in March 2015 for USD 32,500.00 (€ 30,257.89).

Im März 2014 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Couplet In Regular Script von Hua Shikui zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 11.875,00 (€ 8.619,44) und damit 70% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Hua Shikui mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Regular Script beobachtet, die im März 2015 für USD 32.500,00 (€ 30.257,89) versteigert wurde.
