In the American Art Online auction, the work Esmond and the Prince sold for USD 21,250.00 (€ 18,209.08) - well above the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Howard Pyle - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Here, André! A Spy!, which sold at auction in November 2007 for USD 97,000.00 (€ 66,040.31).
