In March 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Two Centuries: American Art, which included the work The Duke of Gloucester Sends for Edward Maudelain by Howard Pyle. The »bidding war« ended at USD 22,680.00 (€ 19,313.63), 51% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Howard Pyle - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Here, André! A Spy!, which sold at auction in November 2007 for USD 97,000.00 (€ 66,040.31).

Im März 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Two Centuries: American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Duke of Gloucester Sends for Edward Maudelain von Howard Pyle zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 22.680,00 (€ 19.313,63) und damit 51% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Howard Pyle mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Here, André! A Spy! beobachtet, die im November 2007 für USD 97.000,00 (€ 66.040,31) versteigert wurde.
