In March 2008 Christies in New York held the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Letter of Introduction by Howard Pyle. The result of USD 10,000.00 (€ 6,327.11) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Howard Pyle achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Here, André! A Spy! in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 97,000.00 (€ 66,040.31).

Im März 2008 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Letter of Introduction von Howard Pyle zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 6.327,11) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Howard Pyle erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Here, André! A Spy! im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 97.000,00 (€ 66.040,31).
