Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2010 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture, which included the work Sleeping Woman by Howard Chandler Christy. The price achieved of USD 6,250.00 (€ 4,620.73) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Howard Chandler Christy achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nudes At The Beach in February 2017 with an auction result of GBP 75,000.00 (€ 87,777.83).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2010 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sleeping Woman von Howard Chandler Christy zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 6.250,00 (€ 4.620,73) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Howard Chandler Christy erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nudes At The Beach im Februar 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 75.000,00 (€ 87.777,83).
