Auction result misses estimated price range
In August this year a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait of Dorothy Knapp by Howard Chandler Christy for USD 3,200.00 (€ 2,952.30). This price was achieved in the auction American Art Online at Bonhams in Los Angeles and was even below the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Howard Chandler Christy achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nudes At The Beach in February 2017 with an auction result of GBP 75,000.00 (€ 87,777.83).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im August diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Portrait of Dorothy Knapp von Howard Chandler Christy für USD 3.200,00 (€ 2.952,30) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion American Art Online bei Bonhams in Los Angeles erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Howard Chandler Christy erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nudes At The Beach im Februar 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 75.000,00 (€ 87.777,83).
