Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2007 Sothebys in Melbourne held the auction Important Australian Art Including Selected International Works, which included the work Australian Zappo Head by Howard Arkley. The price achieved of AUD 3,600.00 (€ 2,152.72) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 3,000.00 – 4,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Howard Arkley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian Untitled in May 2007 with an auction result of AUD 180,000.00 (€ 110,678.66).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August 2007 führte Sothebys in Melbourne die Auktion Important Australian Art Including Selected International Works durch, in der auch die Arbeit Australian Zappo Head von Howard Arkley zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 3.600,00 (€ 2.152,72) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 3.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Howard Arkley erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Australian Untitled im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 180.000,00 (€ 110.678,66).
