Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2020 Bonhams in Melbourne held the auction Australian Art | Modern to Contemporary, which included the work Scalloped Bracket, 1998 by Howard Arkley. The price achieved of AUD 9,150.00 (€ 7,808.50) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Howard Arkley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian Untitled in May 2007 with an auction result of AUD 180,000.00 (€ 110,678.66).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2020 führte Bonhams in Melbourne die Auktion Australian Art | Modern to Contemporary durch, in der auch die Arbeit Scalloped Bracket, 1998 von Howard Arkley zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 9.150,00 (€ 7.808,50) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Howard Arkley erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Australian Untitled im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 180.000,00 (€ 110.678,66).
