However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Horace Hone - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait Of Sir William Forbes, 6Th Bt. Of Pitsligo (1739-1806), which sold at auction in March 2017 for GBP 11,875.00 (€ 13,916.33).

Die Arbeit Portrait Of Anne, Countess Of Clare (D. 1844) von Horace Hone kam im April 2008 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 5.000,00 (€ 6.374,29) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 67%. Für andere Arbeiten von Horace Hone mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portrait Of Sir William Forbes, 6Th Bt. Of Pitsligo (1739-1806) beobachtet, die im März 2017 für GBP 11.875,00 (€ 13.916,33) versteigert wurde.
