The price achieved of GBP 1,200.00 (€ 1,740.59) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Horace Hone have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait Of Sir William Forbes, 6Th Bt. Of Pitsligo (1739-1806) in March 2017 with an auction result of GBP 11,875.00 (€ 13,916.33).
