Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December 2003 Christies in London held the auction Important Gold Boxes,Objects of Vertu & Portrait Miniatures, which included the work A gentleman, in brown coat, white waistcoat, pale yellow checked scarf, frilled and tied cravat, powdered hair by Horace Hone. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 3,346.00 (€ 4,739.17). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Horace Hone - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait Of Sir William Forbes, 6Th Bt. Of Pitsligo (1739-1806), which sold at auction in March 2017 for GBP 11,875.00 (€ 13,916.33).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion Important Gold Boxes,Objects of Vertu & Portrait Miniatures durch, in der auch die Arbeit A gentleman, in brown coat, white waistcoat, pale yellow checked scarf, frilled and tied cravat, powdered hair von Horace Hone zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 3.346,00 (€ 4.739,17) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Horace Hone mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portrait Of Sir William Forbes, 6Th Bt. Of Pitsligo (1739-1806) beobachtet, die im März 2017 für GBP 11.875,00 (€ 13.916,33) versteigert wurde.
