Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
The work Landscapes/Birds and Flowers by Hong Wu was worth HKD 400,000.00 (€ 37,829.91) to a buyer in May 2014. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 100,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hong Wu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Pocket-Sized Landscapes Handscroll, which sold at auction in May 2017 for HKD 826,000.00 (€ 94,318.08).

Die Arbeit Landscapes/Birds and Flowers von Hong Wu war einem Käufer im Mai 2014 HKD 400.000,00 (€ 37.829,91) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy bei Christies in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 100.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von Hong Wu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Pocket-Sized Landscapes Handscroll beobachtet, die im Mai 2017 für HKD 826.000,00 (€ 94.318,08) versteigert wurde.
