This artwork by Hong Wu achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2016. In the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Calligraphic Couplet in Seal Script sold for HKD 106,250.00 (€ 12,947.27) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 50,000.00. Admittedly, works by Hong Wu have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Pocket-Sized Landscapes Handscroll in May 2017 with an auction result of HKD 826,000.00 (€ 94,318.08).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Hong Wu erzielte im November 2016 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Calligraphic Couplet in Seal Script für HKD 106.250,00 (€ 12.947,27) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 50.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Hong Wu auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Pocket-Sized Landscapes Handscroll im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 826.000,00 (€ 94.318,08).
